THE RESET GUIDE

When does Codex reset?

There are three different questions hiding in that one sentence. Here is how to tell them apart.

Your personal usage windows

Your account has its own usage limits and reset times. Check the Usage page or the status shown by your Codex client. A public reset tracker cannot read or calculate your exact account balance.

A direct or global reset

OpenAI may announce an additional reset for eligible accounts. It applies to current usage rather than creating a saved credit. These are occasional announcements, not a guaranteed recurring schedule.

A banked reset credit

A banked reset is saved to an eligible account until it is used or expires. You apply it from your usage settings. Check the specific offer and the expiration displayed in your account.

OpenAI explains that using a full banked reset refreshes eligible 5-hour and weekly usage windows and changes the weekly reset date. Eligibility and expiration vary by offer. See the official banked reset guide for current details.

How to read our calendar

Green marks a direct reset; amber marks a reset credit. Open a date to see whether it is an announcement, a scheduled event or an official confirmation. A scheduled time passing does not change it into a confirmed event.
